My brother just rang me in a bit of a tizzy having misplaced (or lost as he described it) his auto-adjust toggle clamp. He rang me wondering if I’d borrowed it. As if! It’s probably staring at him but he’s one of these people who ‘can’t find things’ or doesn’t see them unless they’re are flashing lights and arrows pointing to the object he’s looking for. He’s forever asking where such and such a thing is and it’s usually within an arm’s reach of him…. Careless and clueless half the time he is…

I’m married to someone who looks but doesn’t see and listens but doesn’t hear. Like most homes, we have a ‘miscellaneous’ drawer (a posh way of saying a junk drawer) but this drawer has filled up and now there’s another which is filling up very quickly too. Anyway, the other day, said other, was looking for something that I knew to be in either of the two miscellaneous drawers. Because these drawers are located one above the other, there are times when stuff from the lower drawer prevents the upper drawer opening fully so sometimes said other thinks that that’s as far as drawer opens and what’s being searched for is obviously elsewhere. The drawer slides full extension so I don’t know what the problem is!

The internet is a wonderful thing, with so many uses and solutions. You can use it for research, for shopping, for information, for entertainment, for all manner of things. Just earlier today I stumbled across cigar auctions online! I had a quick look out of curiosity and couldn’t believe the prices people were paying for something that literally ends up going up in smoke! Some people have money to burn – quite literally!

The management company in our building has decided to replace the luminaire lighting in the lobby after it somehow got damaged last month. To date no one has accepted responsibility for it, but it’s clear that the lighting was intentionally damaged. We don’t get a whole lot of trouble in the area so when there is trouble, we all notice it. Let’s hope there isn’t any more trouble for a long time to come.

You can’t beat a bargain, there’s nothing like finding something you’re looking to buy, cheaper than you’d anticipated. Unless of course, it’s too cheap; then it’s too good to be true! My brother is an accomplished musician and that’s no cheap hobby. So he was so delighted to find where he could save on mogami equipment. Now for those of you not in tune (pardon the pun), mogami is a district in Japan that lends its name to quality. And quality doesn’t usually come cheap. Unless you know where to go

You know the saying you learn something new every day? Well today I learned what a guitar capo is!! I’ve often wondered what the gadget was that was placed on a guitar and what it was for. I still don’t know what it’s for but at least i know what it’s called now. We were at a very intimate gig earlier tonight and the girl who was singing and playing guitar was putting the guitar capo on when it broke. She commented on what had happened and that’s how I discovered what it was called.Maybe tomorroww I’ll learn what its for…

Thankfully I didn’t opt to save for a rainy day…

I was recently checking out auto lift deals when I happened upon a link that was totally unrelated. It was all about saving for Christmas and seemed like a really good idea. It was suggesting paying money into this fund now, a little each month, as much as you could afford kind of thing,and how come December you’d have a nice little lump sum saved and it would make Christmas shopping so much easier. Just the next day I saw something on the news about a hoax saving scheme – it was only the one I’d been reading about!

Remembering a client for all the wrong reasons

Had a meeting with a potential new client today and was somewhat distracted by the large chunky ring he was wearing. When I think of university rings, I tend to think of CSI or some other cop show where the victim has an imprint of a ring of some sort and how they narrow down the suspects by eliminating all those who don’t have the rings etc. Crazy I know!!! It was really rather distracting and I couldn’t focus at all. Hope no one suspected anything!

You can bet your bottom dollar I won’t be doing that again!!

For once I did exactly as I was told – click here. That’s what it said to do and I did it. Only, I wish I hadn’t. By clicking here I unleashed a dirty virus on my computer and I’ve spent several hours trying to rectify the damage that’s been done. I’m normally really careful about that sort of thing but I must admit, I was just feeling ultra inquisitive and had an overwhelming urge to click where it told me to.

Did I mention my eyes are starting to deceive me!

Well – not exactly that but Ive eaten my carrots for years. My mother once told me that I wouldnt need reading glasses if I kept to the carrots and blinked a few times daily.

Well not so much luck this side , though at least my Reading Glasses are not the big thick ones they used to be and fashion has stepped in ever so slightly.

A friend once asked me if my Glasses were for welding.. I then changed them….
